With the extraordinary storms this winter, cabin fever can be overwhelming.
Time for a mid-winter distraction to get out of the doldrums. Those
especially in the Mid-Hudson Valley, dig a path through the snow and
join us on Saturday March 7th at 1:00 PM at Shadows on the Hudson for a
lunch get together. On the east side of the Mid-Hudson Bridge, Shadows
on the Hudson overlooks the Hudson.

This would be a great event to bring your fellow Benz owners who are not
yet MBCA-HudMo members.
Current expected lunch format is separate lunch tabs chosen from the lunch
menu, however this may change to a somewhat more formal lunch package
depending on the size of our group.

Breakfast at Saratoga is a long-standing tradition. Every racing day from 7:00 to 9:30 AM, a buffet
breakfast is served on The Porch of the Clubhouse while the Thoroughbreds prepare for future races.
Mary Ryan, a lifelong horsewoman, provides expert commentary for the workouts.

Fall Foliage Rally and Dinner
The Hudson-Mohawk Section of the Mercedes Benz Club of America invites
you to join us for the 2015 Fall Foliage Rally.
We will be meeting at noon at the Martindale
Chief Diner (a 1958 Silk City Diner) located at the Route 23
exit of the Taconic State Parkway. Come early and enjoy a late
breakfast, brunch or snack at this well-known diner, or just coffee
and the use of their facilities before setting out on the day's
leisurely adventure.
We plan to move out the first car at 12:30, with cars following at
one minute intervals. The rally will take participants through both
northern and southern portions of Columbia County. The rally route
will lead eventually to the historic Copake
Iron Works, where guided tours and self-guided tours are
available. The rally will end at a location of picturesque vistas
suitable for pictures before going in for dinner at 4:30 PM.
We will dine at one of the finest restaurants in Columbia County
(Swiss Hütte overlooking the slopes of
Catamount Ski Area)
where you can get anything from a burger to a gourmet dinner. It
will be a wonderful setting for a chance to laugh about the day's
route, the rally and the surprises encountered along the way.
In general, the route from the diner heads north to Philmont,
Harlemville, and Spencertown, then east to Austerlitz, south to
Green River, over the mountain to Hillsdale, continuing south to
Copake, and almost to Millerton before turning north to Copake Falls
(Copake Iron Works) and then on up into Hillsdale.
Each car will be provided with a turn-by-turn route booklet
containing driving directions, scenery-enjoying tips, and the
questions and clues for the day's just-for-fun trivia contest!
Each car participating in the rally will receive a commemorative
medal. Recognition for the most successful trivia teams will be
awarded at dinner.
Refreshments at the diner and the dinner will be ordered and paid
for on your own. Please be sure to dress comfortably and bring
water or other refreshments to enjoy during the ride and at the
restaurant grounds prior to dinner. We will ask each participant at
the start to provide a cell phone number, answerable in a hands-free
manner or by a passenger, so that communications are available
during the ride where cell service exists.
There will be a $10.00 per car entry fee, payable when you arrive at
the start. For further information and to facilitate planning,
please RSVP as soon as possible by contacting Section President James
Wright or
Section Vice President Chuck Trimarchi. Please be prepared to provide a
preferred phone or e-mail contact information in case we must reach
you due to extreme weather or other unforeseen problems.
